‘They Told Us A Thousand Times’ addresses the method of learning from repetition, questioning its effectiveness concerning our experience of the global space as one. The handmade book comprises 1000 copies of the iconic ‘Earthrise’ photograph taken by astronaut William Anders during the Apollo 8 mission. It is one of the most published pictures of the earth as a whole. However, like in school, when you had to write the same sentence over and over again to internalise its spelling, the method of repetition can create the most negative response: a monotonous indifference towards the content of that very sentence.
