Abstract Systems and Phenomenological Experience
In “Dialectics of Space and Place,” two modes of perceiving space encounter one another: the Substanzraum (space of substance) as a breathing, ever-shifting materiality, and the conceptual space of measurement and order. Fog and laser are not set in opposition; instead, they reveal their mutual dependency. The laser structures what it could not show without the fog, and the fog renders visible what would remain intangible without structure. The installation articulates a dialectic in which process and grid, atmosphere and abstraction emerge as two inseparable aspects of the same reality.
