A Sculpture in 3 Acts
wooden floorboard, metal hooks
dimensions: 150cm x 38cm x 23cm
Bodenbrüter, meaning ‘ground nesting bird’ in German, was a performative sculpture and site-specific spatial intervention for an empty apartment space. The intervention was executed in three acts:
Emergence, Being, and Disappearance.
The wooden sculpture, which was inspired by an old fashioned kids toy, resembles the abstract concept of a wooden bird. However, the object is stuck somewhere in between of being a floorboard and becoming a bird. At the end of the exhibition period the sculpture found its way back to its origin as an integral part of the wooden flooring.
